About Michael:

Michael Strelitz started DataSafe Services in 1995 having worked in senior management positions for many years with De La Rue, Tricentrol and ICI in product management, planning, business development, and business management. He has postgraduate university degrees in Theoretical Physics and Business Management from the Imperial College and London Business School.

DataSafe Services provides a fully managed, secure, remote data backup, restore and archiving service that will backup businesses computer data automatically, via your Internet connection - usually after office hours.

This ensures that you have a copy safe and secure for when it is corrupted or deleted, through human error, viruses, software problems, hardware problems, vandalism etc. or is otherwise inaccessible. It also ensures that you comply with the Data Protection Act with respect to looking after your data.

We know that what you buy from us is not backup, but restore; and our whole service is focussed on this. So, having carefully looked after your data we then help you to restore it when the time comes – either on-line, or directly at your office via removal hard drives if necessary – a necessary service when volumes are large that few others provide.

Many of our clients use tape drives, but they know the problems that these can give, the very high management cost and their relative unreliability. That is why

1. We check each day that our clients are backing up as they should and keep an eye open for discrepancies
2. When we archive your older data to tape we
a) take two separate copies and send one to our second site
b) test that data can be restored from EVERY tape we make. We have NEVER come across any other organisation, whether for internal purposes or as a service that provides this level of assurance.
